POLYMERIC MORTAR'S
INSTRUCTIONS
Read below for step-by-step instructions on how to apply uBeton's polymeric mortar in your works.
Instructions for use
WHERE TO USE: uBeton's polymeric mortar can be used for laying internal and external sealing masonry without structural function. It can be used to lay ceramic bricks, ceramic blocks, concrete blocks, ecological brick and cellular blocks.
APPLICATION: For 6 kg packages, the application can be made directly, requiring only a cut at the end of the bag. For 30 kg barrels, the content must be transferred to an applicator (sent with the barrel) and the application procedure follows that of the 6 kg package. Before applying, check that the block has a clean and dry surface, free of dust and grease. Excessive moisture in the block or brick can compromise the proper functioning of the uBeton polymeric mortar.

BLOCKS: The selection of quality blocks has a fundamental importance for the good
performance of uBeton polymeric mortar. Always look for serious suppliers that meet the dimensional and resistance requirements.
LEVELING: Before using Ubeton's mortar, it is important that the base is well leveled. For that, it is recommended to make the first row with conventional mortar, to regularize the imperfections of the floor and thus guarantee a better alignment in the laying.
DOSAGE: Following the recommendations of standard NBR 16590, the application must be at least two fillets horizontally 10 mm thick on the laying surface (block or brick). For the vast majority of cases these two fillets are already sufficient for a good quality final result.
BETWEEN BLOCKS: It is not necessary to apply the mortar vertically. The base fixation is enough to support the wall. A spacing of 1 to 3 mm between the blocks guarantees a good accommodation of the components.
ANCHORAGE: Fixing the blocks / bricks to the column can be done directly using the polymeric mass. It is important that the column / wall allows the contact of the entire lateral surface of the block. To ensure a good contact area, a recommended practice is to use a cut brick and set it with the holes vertically, thus increasing the surface that will anchor the wall in the column.
WIRING: The wedging or fixing of the wall on the upper slab must follow the standards and practices already adopted by the market, with mortar for wedging being the most suitable material for this application.
ADJUSTMENTS: If the application of the mortar on the block was done incorrectly, it is necessary to remove the all the product from the surfaces and apply the uBeton mortar again under the clean surface.
PERFORMANCE: The consumption of the polymeric mortar per m² of masonry, varies according to the height of the brick / block to be laid. Below is the average consumption that our customers achieve in their works. This consumption can vary more or less depending on the user's application - with or without anchoring, for example.
-
Brick / block 6 cm high: 4.9 - 5.3 kg / m²
-
Brick / block 9 cm high: 3.28 -3.80 kg / m²
-
Brick / block 11.5 cm high: 2.5 - 298 kg / m²
-
Brick / block 14 cm high: 2.0 - 2.5 kg / m²
-
brick / block 19 cm high : 1.5 - 2.0 kg / m²
-
Brick / block 30 cm high: 1.0 - 1.5 kg / m²
DRYING TIME: After application the drying / curing time of the polymeric mass varies from 24 to 72 hours. This variation occurs due to temperature and humidity at the application site. After 15 minutes of application, the product has a good adhesion to the brick / block, however it is advisable not to force the masonry until the mass is completely dry.
